Info from the Internet:
*A papoose (from the Algonquian papoose, meaning “child“) is an American English loanword whose present meaning is “a Native American child” (regardless of tribe) or, even more generally, any child, usually used as a term of endearment, often in the context of the child’s mother.
*What did Native American children play with? The ring the stick game is one of the most popular Native American games played by children. Children tied a string at the end of the stick, and a ring on the end of the string. The player would toss the ring in the air and try catching it with the sharp side of the stick.
*The Native American children were taught by their elders. They were taught how to do errands, how to be warriors, how to cook, how to hunt, and how to take care of kids. But in each tribe there were different roles for each gender. As the kids grew up they helped their parents.
